What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which a browser can keep on your device for a similar purpose. Some of these are essential for a site to work. Others help us understand how the public website is used.
How Cleancut uses cookies and storage
Cleancut currently uses a small set of first-party storage items and, where you sign in or pay, cookies or storage set by our authentication and payment providers. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising networks or other marketing trackers on this website.
The public website, admin area and customer portal are treated differently. First-party website analytics run only on public pages, and only after you choose Accept analytics. They do not run in the admin area, customer portal, invoice pages, quotation pages or website-builder preview.
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site or an account feature to work. They are not used for advertising.
| Name / type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Supabase authentication cookies (typically named with an sb- prefix) | Cleancut / Supabase | Keep you signed in to the customer portal or staff admin and protect the session | While you remain signed in, or until the session expires or you sign out |
| Stripe cookies or storage, when a payment or card-setup page is used | Stripe | Process a card payment or save a payment method securely | Set by Stripe for the payment or setup session |
If you block these, you may still browse the public website, but you will not be able to sign in to the customer portal or complete an online card payment.
Preferences
When you choose Accept analytics or Reject analytics, or save Cookie settings, we store that choice in your browser so we can remember it. That consent record is essential because it is needed to honour your privacy choice. It is not sent into the website analytics system.
| Name / type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_consent (localStorage) | Cleancut | Remember whether analytics was accepted or rejected, the consent version, and when you last updated it | Until you clear site data or change the choice |
Customer-portal notification preferences are stored on your account in our systems, not as a browser preference cookie.
Analytics
The public website uses a first-party analytics tool built into the Cleancut site. It does not start until you actively choose Accept analytics. After that, it helps us understand aggregate visits, how people arrive, which pages they view, and when an enquiry is started or sent. It stores a random visitor identifier and short-lived session details in your browser, then sends page-view and selected click events to our own server. If you reject analytics, or later change your choice to reject, those analytics items are cleared where reasonably possible and no further analytics events are sent.
We do not store raw IP addresses for this analytics. We may use an IP address briefly to limit automated requests. We record a coarse device type and browser family from the user-agent, the page path, a landing page, referrer host, and standard campaign parameters such as source, medium and campaign if they are present in the link you used.
| Name | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_wa_visitor | localStorage | Anonymous first-party visitor identifier | Until you clear site data |
cc_wa_session | sessionStorage | Short-lived visit session identifier | About 30 minutes of inactivity, or until the tab is closed |
cc_wa_landing | sessionStorage | First page of the visit | Current browser session |
cc_wa_attr | sessionStorage | Referrer and campaign parameters for that visit | Current browser session |
cc_wa_last_path and cc_wa_last_view | sessionStorage | Avoid counting the same page view twice in one visit | Current browser session |
If you have accepted analytics and then send an enquiry, we may also attach the same landing-page and campaign information, plus the visitor and session identifiers, to that enquiry so we can see how it arrived. That is not a record of your general browsing history. If analytics is rejected, those identifiers are not created or attached.
Marketing
Cleancut does not currently set advertising or marketing cookies, and does not use advertising pixels on this website.
Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies or storage may appear only when a specific feature is used:
- Stripe. If you pay an invoice, use Quick Pay, or save a card for AutoPay, Stripe’s pages or payment components may set cookies needed to complete the payment securely.
- Google address lookup. Some estimate forms can load Google address suggestions after you start typing or focus the address field. If that feature is used, Google may set its own cookies. You can enter an address manually instead.
- Google reviews. Links to leave a Google review take you to Google. Cookies on Google’s site are Google’s responsibility.
Social links in the footer only appear if Cleancut has added a Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn address. Those links go to the other site; they do not embed social plugins or advertising pixels on our pages.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking essential authentication or payment storage will stop the customer portal and online card payments from working.
You can change your analytics choice through Cookie settings in the website footer, or here:
Clearing local storage will also remove the consent record. The next public-page visit will ask for your choice again. If analytics was previously accepted, rejecting it stops future analytics and clears Cleancut analytics storage. It does not remove authentication or payment storage.
More about how we use personal information is in our Privacy Policy. Website use and booked work are also covered by our Terms & Conditions.

Changes
We may update this policy if the website’s cookies or storage change. The latest version and the date at the top of this page will always be the current one.
